IIf you read JAFF with werewolves, vampires and witches, why not with Santa Claus? In this story we have an 8-year-old Georgiana Darcy with an older brother of 28 who does not insult Elizabeth at the assembly but does overhear 2 of her childhood acquaintances do so and then watches in astonishment of she serves them well and makes it to be an accident.

Darcy quickly comes to realize his love for Elizabeth but she is the one to put in place his connections and his family as a hindrance to their marriage. He claims that they make no difference to him but she does not trust that will be so in the future. He leaves but in London Georgiana finds out that a woman named Elizabeth is the reason for his dejection so she sends a letter to Santa asking that he find a wife for her brother because this “Elizabeth” has broken his heart. M/M Claus, old family friends, decide to take some time out from their busy schedule to take a trip to London.

As in the story of Peter Pan, you are asked to believe. As Elizabeth comes to town to visit with her Aunt and Uncle Gardiner things progress and Elizabeth is heard to voice this realization, “…It is about faith, is it not? Believing or trusting in something or someone for whom you have no proof of?” Or that the person sitting next to you will love you for all time, she thought randomly. So will Elizabeth believe that he will not come to despise her, to look down on her family and her lack of a dowry?

And know this: that as much as you might want to belittle a fairy tale variation…I had tears in some of the more poignant parts!

Very good story, will read any books from that whriter
If you want to read a Christmas story that is good for children AND adults, this is the one. Here I could enjoy romance and fantasy at the same time--something I find rare. Specially, when the subject of Christmas might seem already too recurrent. It is overflowing in the stores and in the media, I know. But not here. In this book, it is really magic.

As a romantic addict, the story is one I couldn’t give up. And the author wouldn’t disappoint with good humor, true to Jane Austen as she should!
Very juvenile story. For young adults. The characters bear no resemblance to Austen's story. I would not recommend as JAFF.
A lighthearted and fun read. Darcy and Elizabeth find a jolly member of their family and also find each other.
Really terrible unless you believe in the tooth fairy, etc. We are expected to believe that Father Christmas/Santa is a real person. Yes, with a straight face, the author presents this storyline as factual. I ended up skimming through it. I found it ridiculous. The best thing I could say about it was there was no verbal porn (mature content).
This is a cute quaint Christmas story that was easy to read, though had some areas that could be improved upon. I loved the premise behind this story, though some things were a little hard to accept. I was concerned with the author having made Georgiana 8 y/o, but some of her dialogue was too advanced for that age. Still in the end it was read in the spirit it was written and was enjoyable. I think that other JAFFers would enjoy the story.
This is not your canon P&P, even though we have Austen’s characters. Being a variation, that makes this a totally different story. It is a seasonal ‘do you believe in Santa’ starring an eight, going on nine, year old Georgiana Darcy, who wants a wife for Christmas for her brother. Yeah, the timeline is way off canon. Georgiana is very young, has Mrs. Annesley as her governess, while Darcy is twenty-eight years old.

As far as the story goes, we have the relationship between Darcy, Georgiana and Elizabeth. We have their ups and downs as they work desperately toward the HEA. The fictional character of Santa and the real version of him are a mashup of stories, told through the ages, of this seasonal being. Georgiana is a child and still believes in Santa and write a letter to him asking for a wife for her brother.

Although this was a cute novella, it contained editing problems, errors of propriety, comportment and Regency language. At times, it was a bit modern. Jane traveled with Bingley and there was no mention of a maid, footmen, or chaperone. Really? Also, there were other actions without chaperone that gave the reader pause.

You can’t challenge plausibility as you are dealing with a story about Santa. Come on, it was a light-hearted read with a bit of seasonal whimsy. What happened to your Christmas spirit? Have the credit card bills started arriving already? This was a story of faith, in believing in something larger than yourself. Believing in something that you can’t see with your eyes, even though this Santa does reveal himself to certain people. It was cute; what can I say?
